Thailand was same same but different.

Being in Thailand was like being on the other side of the world and being in the next town over. It was different in the sense that the culture and customs weren’t what I was used to. Taking off shoes before going into certain places, more poverty than I’m used to seeing, Buddhist temples as commonplace as a Starbucks, eating rice a lot, and trying to survive crossing the street. But the people in Thailand are generally the same as in the USA. Both are just living their lives, thriving, surviving or living one day at a time. In both worlds people are being born, getting married, working, and dying. In both worlds people are loving and being loved; hurting others and being hurt. And in both worlds the need for Christ’s forgiveness. The need for love and the needful hope is just as great. So Thailand was same same but different.
