Saying goodbye to our friends, Kat & Eliya. See you next year!

After spending the night at our friends Eliya & Kat in Poeng Kloeng, we said our goodbyes and headed toward Umphang. Along the way, we stopped for a few hours at a refugee camp for Karen people displaced by the war in the town of Nupo. There we met with the students of a Bible school and had an exchange of songs and food. It’s opportunities like this that really bring home the effect of war. These are all people who have been driven out of their country by a government who wants to wipe them out, studying to become pastors, missionaries, and teachers who will help their people know God in the coming years. Once again, we were treated to amazing hospitality by our new friends while enjoying an unforgettable experience.

Tomorrow we head back up to Mae Sot via the notorious road of a thousand curves. We’ll spend a night there before returning to the FBR Ranch in Chiang Mai.
