Our first full day in Umphang was a special one. We were given the opportunity to visit the local elementary and high school and do our program of singing, skits, games, and crafts. It was something to be singing and talking about Jesus with a buddha statue nearby, but both the faculty and the students seemed to really appreciate our time with them and repeatedly said that they would like to have us back again. Praise God for these open doors!
That evening, one of the teachers at the school invited us to her home, which is also a vacation resort with several cabins. We sat on the deck looking over the town under the stars, eating snacks and singing songs (including a few Christmas carols).
